Drink Review on: Paul Masson Brandy VSOP

Review for: Paul Masson Brandy VSOP
  No hangovers, Aug 12, 2008

Paul Masson Brandy VSOP
I like Paul Masson VSOP because it's a bit milder than Paul Masson Grande Amber. I noticed that it goes down way smoother, you still get the same effects, but with no hangover. If anyone agrees with me let me know lol. But right now I'm drinking the Grande Amber. Both are good. lol. (more info)

Drink Review on: Lismore Scotch

   Review for: Lismore Scotch
Not a true single-malt, but an amazing bargain!, Aug 12, 2008

Lismore Scotch
A longtime fan of Speysides, I'd usually kept Cragganmore around as my house Scotch. That changed a little over a year ago when I gambled $21 and went home with a bottle of Lismore. What a pleasant surprise it was to find that, although rather undistinguished and a bit quick on the finish, this vatted malt Scotch gives Cragganmore a run for its money. It has a pleasant nose, is full of fruit and honey, with good smoke in the middle. I have not yet tried the 12-year or the 25-year yet, but I rate this one so highly because -- especially at this price -- it is a very tasty and enjoyable Scotch> I have converted a number of friends, as well! Drink Review on: Don Julio 1942 Anejo

Review for: Don Julio 1942 Anejo
A great shooter to impress the ladies, Aug 01, 2008

Don Julio 1942 Anejo
There's nothing more impressive to the ladies than ordering a rather expensive shot of the Don Julio 1942 Tequila. The elegant presentation of the bottle and it's slender, yet masculine features quickly let members of the opposite sex know that you are not a man to be trifled with.

My buddy and I did a double-shooter with three women. I've never experienced a shot go down so smooth. I'll be the first to admit that I didn't savor the initial taste as I thought it would be similar to many of the less-premium Agave brands out there. Boy was I wrong!

The burn going down was minimal and there was no need to chase the shot with a lime or a chaser. I think I caught a hint of green apple and vanilla.

The hidden beauty here though is the fact that the three ladies we bought the shots for found us a bit more "attractive" than earlier. I think it was more from the size of the bar tab though than the effect from the alcohol - at least, that's what we hope.

I'd recommend tryning a shot of 1942 to any guy out there that is looking to impress the ladies! Definitely seals the deal!

THANK YOU DON JULIO!!! (more info)

Drink Review on: Carlos I Brandy

   Review for: Carlos I Brandy
Yes it is Spanish!, Jul 29, 2008

Carlos I Brandy
Since trying this wonderfully smooth Spanish brandy several years ago I have become a huge fan. So smooth, yet full of character reminiscent of those warm evenings sat in a REAL spanish tapas bar. However dont forget your extra Euros, as at anywhere between 8 and 15 euros a shot, its not cheap. Better still, buy a bottle to take home with you. (more info)

Is this really Spanish?, Jul 23, 2008

Carlos I Brandy
I had the pleasure of trying this exceptional Spanish Brandy some 3 years ago, and have been a fan ever since. It is smooth, with a warm rounded flavour, reminiscent of some of the best French Armangacs. I would highly recommend this.............. and if you get chance, try it after a great meal on the spanish costas....but be warned it will cost you as much as the meal!! (more info)
